How to review written answers before everyone sees them

Don't have the app yet? Add 123 Polls & Surveys to Microsoft Teams. Already have it? Open it in Teams.

For idea boards, word clouds and written answers, 123 Polls & Surveys can hold each answer until you approve it, so nothing appears on the meeting screen or to participants before you've seen it. It's how to run a Q&A or a retrospective without surprises.

Turn on review

  1. In the builder, on an Idea board, Word cloud or Written answer question, tick Review before showing.
  2. Tick Flag potentially offensive words too, if you like. Flagged answers stay hidden until you review them.
  3. Run the poll.

Approve answers

  1. While the poll runs, look under Responses so far on the Run tab. New answers wait there, marked Needs review.
  2. Click Approve to show an answer to participants. Click Hide to keep one from them. Answers you don't approve stay hidden.
  3. On an idea board, click Highlight to pin the answers you want to talk about. Drag answers to change their order.

Presenters with results access can review too. Give someone Manage results and review written responses access to hand this job to a co-host. See co-organizers and presenters.

What's kept

You always see every answer, approved or not, and every answer is in the Excel and CSV downloads. Approving only decides what participants see.
