Currently the Attendance Taker app requires that you be a meeting host in order to take attendance, which is why you were getting this error.


You can request host or co-host status in a meeting to get instant access. Additionally, you can share app access with a host or cohost if you're looking for help managing attendance. Learn more here.


As one possible workaround, we have a separate Meeting Timer and Attendance App that joins meetings as a Zoom participant. Because of this, it takes attendance in a different way, so it can take attendance even if you are not the meeting host. You can install that app here.
